How I Organize My Planner

I love being organized, it just makes me feel so much better about school and life in general. I’m also an education major so buying school supplies is something I truly enjoy lol. I posted last week about planners that are great for school, which you can read by clicking here
Today I’m gonna talk about how I organize my agenda and just some general organization tips!
Color Coding
Last semester I was pretty intense with this. Literally, every class I was in had a specific color I used in my planner. And yes, I know that seems really extreme but I feel like it’s really helpful! This semester I’m going with the same system. I’ve already made a key with all the colors and what class they are for. Honestly, it makes it so much easier when each class has their own specific color. I also have different colors for work, travel, and blogging.

Sticky Notes
I really love sticky notes. I use them so much. I can write a simple to do list on them and I can also write a note to myself to keep me encouraged. Sticky notes are great because you can stick them anywhere. They’re also small so it’s easy to keep sticky notes in a pencil bag or just in your bookbag. I just use sticky notes all the time, I think I have a problem haha!

To-Do Lists
I don’t know about you guys but making a to-do lists helps me visualize all of the assignments I have due. I love that I can physically cross things off. When I know I have a lot due, it helps me to collect my thoughts and write out all of the things I have left to do.

Thanks for reading y’all! If you have any organization tips, I’d love to hear them!

Perfect Agendas for High School and College

Having the perfect agenda for school is vital when it comes to being organized and successful as a student. I honestly don’t know how people don’t use planners. They help me SO much!! So today I’m rounding up some of the cutest and most useful planners!!

I’m thinking about doing a post where I share how I organize my planner!! If you’d be interested in that please let me know!
For the past 3 school years (and now going into my 4th) I’ve used a Lilly Pulitzer agenda. I love mine! The prints are super colorful and they brighten each day! I would definitely recommend that one. Now, I haven’t used all of the agendas that I’m showing y’all today, however, I’ve heard great reviews of all of them, and from what I’ve seen personally they’re all great to use!

1. // 2. // 3. // 4. // 5. //

Also if you want to try using an agenda but you aren’t sure if you’ll love it, then you should totally check out stores like TJ Maxx and Target. They have really cute agendas that are super cheap so you can try using one before you buy a more expensive one!!

Thanks for reading! I’ll see you guys soon!

Back To School Series – Freshman Year Experience

Hey guys, over the next month I’ll be sharing some stories, tips, and other helpful information about high school and college. I’m no expert, so I’m only speaking from my experience. In the fall I will be a sophomore in college. I’m studying elementary education and I’m doing an add on in early childhood education. I’ve known for a long time that I’ve wanted to teach. When I was younger, I played school all the time. I can’t believe that will be my reality in just a few years.
In this particular post, I’m going to share my freshman year experience. I’m going to be as transparent and real with you guys as possible! I really hope this helps someone out!
College is a scary thing to think about.  I remember being very nervous for the first week of classes. I over analyzed everything. To my surprise, it wasn’t nearly as bad as I imagined. I had nothing to worry about. One thing I didn’t have to worry about was moving in. I only live a few minutes from campus so I commute every day. It was the best option for me and is actually saving money!
My classes went really well during the fall semester. I was in one education class and that made me realize that I was going to love my major. I loved my professors and I made the Dean’s List that semester. I guess my biggest tip for a successful semester is to stay organized. I use my planner so much during the school year. I’m always checking it or writing assignments in it. Writing things in my planner is something that I have to do, I think it is super helpful. Another thing I love to use is sticky notes. I use them all the time.
Doing your readings is also extremely important. For one of my classes during the first semester, we would have quizzes from time to time. Since we never knew when the quizzes would be given, I tried to do my readings for every class. One thing I love about college is having access to the syllabus. They have the semester planned out for you with homework assignments, tests, and papers. For someone like me, it’s a great tool to have.
Fall semester flew by! Before I knew it, football season was over which is such a bummer. It was already time for exams. I’ll be sharing another post this month about studying for finals so stay tuned!
Spring semester went well. I had one class in particular that I struggled with. In the end, I didn’t do as well as I had hoped. Sometimes all you can do is give one hundred percent. The outcome may not be what you want, but it’s a learning experience.
I love college. I’m lucky that I had a good year. Not everyone has a good experience freshman year. I go to a great school with wonderful professors. It was a good fit for me. If you’re getting ready to go to college definitely ask yourself if your potential school is right for YOU. Don’t just go to school somewhere because of the fun student life or because you have friends going there.
I hope that this will help someone out! I’m no expert on this and I’m just speaking from my personal experience. If you guys have any questions feel free to email me or message me on Twitter/Instagram! Thank you for reading! xoxo
