Book Review : American Royals

Hey guys! So, I’m back today with another book review. A few weeks ago I read American Royals by Katherine McGee. And needless to say, I loved it SO much. The sequel comes out next month(it’s called Majesty btw) and I cannot wait to see what happens next in the story.

In the book, the Washington family is the royal family of America. George Washington became king after the Revolutionary War instead of the president. And now all these years later, his family is still on the throne.

I think part of the reason that I really liked this book was the detail and the way it included so much history. I have to give major props to Katherine McGee because there were so many details, and I’m sure so much research went into this book. She not only had to know American history but also A LOT of royal protocol. This book was perfect for someone like me, I’m a sucker for royal drama and history. It was really a win-win for me.

Anyway, I highly suggest this book. While it is YA fiction, I still really enjoyed it! I cannot wait to read Majesty.

Thanks so much for reading!

Book Review : The Proposal

Happy Wednesday y’all! I hope that you’re week is going well. I thought it would be fun to share another book review with y’all. It’s been almost 3 months since my last one.
The book I’m sharing today is The Proposal. So, if you don’t know, this book is the second in a series of five. They are stand-alone books though. You don’t have to read them in order. I didn’t haha. I actually read this one first,  I didn’t realize it was part of a series. I’ve since read the first and third. I really like the author’s style and I think they’re fun reads.
This book was enjoyable and lighthearted. It follows Nik, a freelance writer who gets proposed to at Dodger Stadium during a game. She wasn’t expecting the proposal at all. And Carlos, a doctor, who sees the trainwreck of a proposal befriends Nik. Nik and Carlos bond over sports, Mexican food, and rosé (which sounds ideal to me haha)! Even though they met in such a crazy way, the friendship that forms is so endearing.
Something I LOVE about Jasmine Guillory is that her characters are really loveable. I’ve enjoyed reading her novels a lot because she writes characters that I feel like I could hang out with in real life. Anyway, all in all I enjoyed this book a lot. I bought it back in May of last year and it took me a really long time to finish (completely my fault!), but I am so glad I finally did finish it.
A few weeks back I finished the third book in this series. Let me know if you want a review on the blog!
Thanks so much for reading!

Book Review : The Wedding Date

Hey, y’all and happy Monday! I hope you guys had a great weekend. Mine was pretty lowkey, I wrapped it up by watching the Superbowl last night with my fam. I’m so glad we all like sports lol. I can’t believe it’s already February! Chapter 2 of 12! Make it a great one!

So, today I’m sharing a review of the last book I finished! If you follow along on my Instagram, you’ll know that recently I read The Wedding Date by Jasmine Guillory.

Funny story, I read the sequel to this book before I read it, and while it didn’t spoil much, I do wish I had read them in order. I really did enjoy reading The Proposal, it took me forever to read because I didn’t prioritize it. I really liked the story and the characters, but I liked the Wedding Date a lot more! I also finished the Wedding Date much quicker!

I really like books that would make cute rom coms and I definitely think this book would! I was rooting for Maddie and Drew the entire time. I loved their chemistry and their passion for their careers. I found Maddie really relatable which I loved. It feels so good to read a book where you can really relate the main character. To me, it made Maddie really likable. This book is set in California, between LA and the Bay Area. It’s really made me wanna visit the West Coast lol.

I feel like Jan/Feb is the perfect time to read this book. It is a romance so it’s fitting for Valentine’s Day.

If you’re looking for a quick fun little read, I would suggest this book! Then you can go read the rest of the series. I’ve now started the 3rd book and I’m liking it so far!

Please let me know if you’re interested in seeing more book post on the blog. Reading is something I love and I would love to share it with y’all! I hope you guys have a fantastic Monday!

Thanks for reading!
