How I Stay Productive and Organized in School

The fact that there are only 5 Monday’s left in the semester is really terrifying, considering all of the work that I have left. It isn’t easy finding the motivation to rock the last few weeks of the semester. However, it is easier to get your work done when you’re organized.
Today I’m going to be sharing some tips that have helped me get through the first three semesters of college. They’ve been pretty successful so far.

Plan Ahead
I think that this is so important especially when it comes to something like academics. Personally, I use a Lilly Pulitzer Agenda and I love it. I love having somewhere to lay out my assignments and schedule. Before the semester I try to write in major due dates like test or papers. It’s helpful when you’re starting the semester to see exactly when major dates are so they don’t sneak up on you. Planning ahead also helps you pace yourself so you aren’t cramming and doing all the work right before it’s due.

Taking Neat Notes
Taking neat notes is super helpful. If you don’t take neat notes during a lecture, that’s okay! You can always recopy them later. I also like to color code my notes. It helps me to keep them organized so when I’m studying it seems to flow easier. Taking neat notes is something that will help you more than you realize. When you’re studying for an upcoming test and your notes are neat, studying is a lot less painful.

Don’t Procrastinate
Personally, I struggle with this. I wish I didn’t. It’s so easy to say you’ll do something later, but the best time to do it is NOW. Don’t wait. Once you get your work done you’ll feel good and have more downtime! In the long run, it pays to be productive and not to wait until the last minute. Just remember that there’s no time like the present!

Thanks for reading! I hope this is helpful!
