Hey you guys! Happy Tuesday! I am so excited about this blog post because it’s all about my blog! Today is my blog anniversary. I’ve been doing this for six years. I am so thankful that I get to share a little bit about myself on this little corner of the internet!
Anyway, today I’m taking a little stroll back through Emily’s Style Edit (if you’ve been around for a while, you know that it started as The Monogrammed Em). Let’s get into it!
The Monogrammed Em Era
It all started during the summer between my Freshman and Sophomore years of college. I had always loved to write. Ever since I was in elementary school. I would take notebooks with me when I would ride in the car, and I loved writing stories in school. I guess that’s something that I’ve never outgrown, even after all these years.
I loved the idea of writing and sharing ideas. I also loved the idea of sharing fashion/lifestyle/beauty. So, I took the leap of faith and went for it. In July of 2017, I wrote my very first post. It was a back to school post about my freshman year experience! I didn’t post my face on my Instagram until March of 2018 (This makes me laugh now, lol). I was so insecure about sharing the face behind the blog. I’ve gained so much confidence and come to terms with the fact that my blog is my corner of the internet, and I can really make it whatever I want it to be!

I was so excited to buy the Lilly Pulitzer shirt I was wearing. For a long time I really leaned into the preppy aesthetic. It just felt right. There are still some elements to it that I love now. However, I will say my style has evolved to something a little different. Anyway, I won’t bore you with that story! Keep scrolling to see a few of my favorite moments from The Monogrammed Em!!
Skip to 2020, and life changed for a while. I felt my overall aesthetic also changed. So, in September of 2020, I rebranded from The Monogrammed Em to Emily’s Style Edit! I felt like that name encompassed what I was sharing much better. I love that I rebranded! I’m so glad I did.
