NYFW Favorites

Hey guys and happy Monday! I hope that you guys had a great weekend, today I’m sharing a post that I’m super excited about!!

So New York Fashion Week was just a few weeks ago and one of my favorite things to do after any fashion week is to go back and pick out my favorite shows. So I thought it would be a fun blog post if I shared that with you guys!!

So let’s jump right in!
**I do not own any of the images used in this post**

1. Carolina Herrera
One of my favorite thing about this show was definitely the color palette! It was also big, bold, and elaborate!

2. Oscar de la Renta
I spent so much time looking at the looks from this show and being completely mesmerized. I think one of my favorite things was the bold colors. I loved seeing some of the contrast between the bright colors. I also really loved the patterns used.

3. Tory Burch
Something about this show that I really loved was the femininity! Also seeing the fashion sneaker trend on the runway was great. I love seeing something that has become such a big trend in high fashion! Again, I’m a huge sucker for a bright color palette and Tory definitely delivered.

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you guys enjoyed this!

What is in My Bag?

I get commission through clicks and purchases made through links in this post.

Hey, y’all! Happy Wednesday, you’ve made it to the middle of the week! Today’s post is fun! I’m sharing what I typically carry in my bag.

I have the Daisy Rose Bags tote in brown and cream! You can shop it here! I carry them both a lot as everyday bags! I also use them when I travel (when I went to NYC I took it as my personal item)!

So, it really depends on where I’m going as to what is in my bag. On a typical day, I carry a book in there. Currently, I’m reading The Wedding Date by Jasmine Guillory. I almost always try to carry a book with me. (I love reading and wish I did it more. But you also never know when you’ll have spare time and need something to do!

I’ve also started carrying my planner with me! I guess you can tell I’m getting older lol. I’m using one of Emily Ley’s Simplified planner and so far I am LOVING it!! You can shop my exact one here!

I also carry my wallet lol. It is also by Dasiy Rose and it matches my cream tote. You can shop my wallet here

And then lastly, I carry a bag of toiletries. You never know when you’re gonna need something!! I also carry lipstick and chapstick in there too! A couple of my favorites are Carmex and my Tarte Lipstick in Salt Lyfe! Also, I carry a mini Wet Brush and it is a lifesaver!

I hope you guys enjoyed this post, I know it was kinda short! But honestly, I don’t carry all that much in my tote on a regular basis. What do you carry in your everyday bag?

Thanks for reading! See ya soon!

Peek into my Week Vol. 11

I get commission through purchases and clicks made through links in this post.

Happy Friday guys! Welcome to the first Peek Into My Week of 2020! I’m really excited to bring this series back. I haven’t posted one since September!
This week has been kinda crazy. First, the week started off with The Bachelor! Don’t worry I won’t spoil it I promise! I’m really excited about this season and I’m excited that my friends and I are going to be getting together each week to watch it!
Yesterday and today I was at school sitting in seminars. I start my student teaching tomorrow which is so exciting! I’m really excited to get into the classroom and start teaching!

Now let’s get into the good stuff!

What Book I’m Reading
If you read my post from the other day, “What I Want to Read This Year…Sort of” (which you can read here!) you’ll know I’m reading Little Women. So far I have really enjoyed it! I went and saw the movie last week and it was so good!
I’m only a few chapters in right now, but I can tell that I’m going to love this book.
What I’m Reading
I loved this post that Caitlin did on her most popular Amazon buys of 2019!
This post that Carly did was such a fun read! She talks about everything Little Women which is so fitting! 😉
What I’m Listening To
So, last year instead of making monthly playlist I just made a 2019 one. I liked this idea for a few months, but I really missed making a playlist every month. I started back in November, and it’s so much fun to curate playlists! So, I thought it would be fun to share my January playlist with you guys. Now the month isn’t over so I might be adding more songs. If you like it, you should follow!

I hope that you guys have enjoyed today’s post! I’ll see ya soon!

What I Want to Read This Year…Sort of

I get commission through clicks and purchases made through links in this post.

Hey, y’all happy Monday! I hope you are having a great day so far. Today’s post is a little different, but it’s something that I’m really excited to share. So if you know me, you know I love to read. I thought it would be fun to share some of the books I wanna read this year (I have so many more books on my tbr list lol).  Throughout this post, there will be links to the books I’m talking about. Feel free to shop those links!
What I’m Currently Reading
Okay, so I’m going to start with the book I am currently reading. I’m reading Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. I really enjoy reading classic novels and with the hype of the new Little Women movie, I couldn’t help but want to read the book. I’m only a few chapters in but it’s good so far!

Top 5 Books I Want to Read This Year

1. American Royals by Katharine McGee
This book seems so intriguing to me. I’m waiting on it at the library and I cannot wait to see the take on America having a royal family/monarchy. I will definitely let you guys know if I like it or not.
2. The Wedding Date by Jasmine Guillory
Okay, so I recently finished The Proposal by Jasmine and I really liked it! After I started reading it, I realized that it was part of a series(luckily you don’t have to read them in order). But now I wanna go back and read the first book in the series. The Proposal was such a fun read and I’m looking forward to not only reading The Wedding Date but reading Jasmine Guillory’s other books too!

3. The Women in the Castle by Jessica Shattuck
I came across this book last year. I had just finished a book and I was looking for a new one. I actually started this one, and I liked it! I just didn’t get the chance to read it all. I’m going to go back and finish it! I am a sucker for a good historical fiction novel and from what I’ve already read of this one, I think I’ll really like it!

4. The Huntress by Kate Quinn
I obviously love historical fiction because the last three picks of this list are all historical fiction!
I read Kate Quinn’s book The Alice Network last year and I really enjoyed it. This book, The Huntress has strong female characters just like The Alice Network and takes place after WW2. That’s actually one of my favorite time periods to learn about, and all three historical fiction books on this list take place during that time.  I cannot wait to get my hands on this book and read it.

5. The Room of Rue Amelie by Kristin Harmel
This book seems like it would really interest me. It takes place in France during WW2 and is all about love and the strength of human beings. I’ll be requesting it from the library soon and I’ll let you guys know what I think!

I hope that you like this post. If you’re a reader like me maybe you’ll check these books out!
Hopefully, I’ll finish these and get to share another post like this with y’all in a few months!

Thank you for reading! See ya soon!
xoxo Emily
