Hey guys! Merry *almost* Christmas! And Happy Holidays! I am so excited about today’s blog post. If you know me, you know that I’m a sucker for pop culture. And back in the summer, I started a series called the Pop Culture Edit. It’s been a while since I posted one and since there has been SO much happening in the pop culture world, I thought it was the perfect time to bring it back.
1. Okay, let’s start with A NEW TAYLOR SWIFT ALBUM?
2020 has been rough, but thankfully we have gotten not one, but TWO Taylor Swift albums this year. Last Thursday Taylor took to Instagram to announce her 9th studio album, evermore. While evermore is similar to folklore with its aesthetic and lyrics, evermore is all her own.
You all know at this point that I am a swiftie and always have been. I love evermore so much! It’s such a breathtakingly beautiful album and I am a firm believer that this album will be making its way into my top three Taylor albums.
If you haven’t listened to evermore you definitely should! I know I’m biased, but I really think it’s a great album! You can click here to preorder it from Target!
2. We’ll Always Be Together
I don’t know how many of you guys listen to the girl group Little Mix, they are really such a talented group!! They were formed in 2011 on The X Factor UK. Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jesy Nelson have been making music together for 9 years. On Monday, the group announced that Jesy Nelson would be departing. It did break my heart, I have listened to these girls for 9 years. I love their dedication and talent.
However, I am very proud of Jesy for prioritizing her mental health! I think there is still so much more to be said about the stigma of mental health, and I applaud Jesy for taking such a public stand. I think it is really important to take care of yourself, no matter what you have to give up in the process.
I’ll miss Jesy, but I am so proud of her and sending her well wishes!
3. Matt James as The Bachelor is Coming Soon
Okay, 2020 started out as a bit of a mess when Pilot Pete became the bachelor. We should have known then. While it was at times, hard to watch I couldn’t look away.
The newest season of the Bachelor will be premiering on January 4th! I am very excited to see Matt James as the Bachelor. He supposed to be on this current season of the Bachelorette but instead was cast as the next Bachelor. I am really looking forward to getting to know more about Matt and seeing how his season shapes up.
4. Currently Reading
Right now I’m reading The Lies That Bind by Emily Giffin. I’m really enjoying it! I just haven’t had much time to read, so it’s taken me the longest time to finish it! Click here to shop this book!
My next read is Such a Fun Age by Kiley Reid. I cannot wait to start it! I’m hoping that I’ll finish both books over Christmas Break.
