Hey guys, and happy Thursday! This post was supposed to go up yesterday, oops. But, better late than never. I’m actually so excited to share this post with you guys!! So, I didn’t realize this book was coming out until a few weeks ago. Malibu Nights is by Taylor Jenkins Reid, who wrote Daisy Jones and the Six and The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo.
On June 1st, I picked this book as my June Book of the Month. I didn’t start reading it until last week, but you guys. THIS BOOK WAS FANTASTIC. I had high hopes for this book. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo was my favorite read of 2020.
Malibu Rising tells of the infamous Riva siblings, Nina, Jay, Hud, and Kit. The year is 1983, and the party of the year is about to begin. This story goes hour by hour on that day. It covers everything that happens before the party and covers the party as well.
There is also a parallel in this story that tells the story of Mick Riva (He’s also in the Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo) and June. (Nina, Kit, Jay, and Hud’s mom).
So many secrets and revelations come to light the night of the party. I got to a point where I couldn’t put the book down. I really have come to love Taylor Jenkins Reid’s style. I was captivated by the story of the Riva siblings. I was so intrigued by Mick and his rise to fame. There were also so many minor characters that added such depth to this story.
I’m giving this book 5 stars. So far, it’s my only 5-star book of the year. (Although some have come close.) You can click the image of the book below to shop! You should definitely buy this book and read it!!

Thanks so much for reading!
